Pan African communications strategist and media entrepreneur Nick Enubuzor has been appointed Principal Consultant to the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force, marking a significant expansion of his work at the intersection of strategic communications, institutional storytelling and public sector media development.
The appointment by the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, places Enubuzor within a strategic communications environment where public trust, institutional visibility and effective engagement with citizens have become increasingly important to modern policing.
Prior to his appointment, Enubuzor was chief strategist at Legacy Public Relations & Media Consulting, a Cape Town based communications and media firm with branches across East and West Africa, mainly in Nairobi, Accra, Lagos and Abuja. His professional work has spanned public relations, media strategy, corporate communications, reputation management, content development and strategic partnerships, with engagements involving both public and private sector institutions.
A major component of his recent engagement with the Nigeria Police Force is the establishment and development of Nigeria Police Force Television (NPFTV), conceived as a contemporary multimedia platform for telling the stories of policing, officers, communities and the institution itself through documentaries, interviews, public education, news features and digital first content.
For Enubuzor, the assignment represents more than conventional publicity. It presents an opportunity to help develop communications infrastructure capable of bringing policing closer to the people while creating stronger channels for institutional storytelling, transparency, public education and engagement.
His approach has consistently emphasised a simple communications principle: institutions cannot afford to allow their most important stories to remain untold.
The appointment also reflects the growing strategic importance of communications expertise within major African institutions. In an era when public perception can be shaped within seconds across digital platforms, communication is no longer merely a supporting function. It increasingly sits at the centre of reputation, stakeholder relations and institutional legitimacy.
For Boardroom Voices Africa, Enubuzor’s latest assignment is also a compelling African leadership story, one that illustrates the expanding space for communications professionals, media entrepreneurs and private sector expertise to contribute to the transformation of public institutions.
From the boardroom to the newsroom, and now within one of Nigeria’s most visible national institutions, Nick Enubuzor enters a new chapter in a career built around one central currency: communication.
